SCREEN: THE COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION

Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a stencil to apply ink to a substrate. The stencil is created by blocking out the areas of the screen that do not need to be printed. The ink is then applied to the screen with a squeegee, and the stencil allows the ink to pass through to the substrate.

It is also a versatile printing method that can be used on a variety of materials, including paper, plastic, and metal. It is also a cost-effective printing method, especially for larger orders.
Screen Print is ideal for large quantities where strong, vibrant opaque colours are needed.
It also gives the ability for embossed buttons and clear window for fascia’s.

If you are looking for a versatile, durable, cost-effective, and high-quality printing method, screen printing is a good option to consider.

WHAT ARE SUB-SURFACED LABELS AND HOW ARE THEY MADE?

We start with a clear polycarbonate or polyester. We then print the image on the reverse face of the material, starting with the first colour, followed by any additional colours in sequence, finally working back to the background colour and the application of the adhesive and release paper.

Once the labels are finished and cut to shape, the printed image is then viewed through the substrate on which it is printed. This type of label is therefore very durable, as the image is so well protected by the layer of clear material.

SURFACE OR SUB-SURFACE PRINTING

SURFACE

Surface printing is a printing technique in which the ink is applied directly to the surface of the material. This type of printing is typically used for items that will be seen from the front, such as t-shirts, posters, and banners.

Surface printing is a versatile printing technique that can be used to create a variety of different effects. It can be used to create bold, vibrant colors, or it can be used to create more subtle, understated effects. Surface printing is also a relatively inexpensive printing technique, which makes it a good option for budget-minded projects.

SUB-SURFACE

Subsurface printing is often used for items that will be seen from the back, such as window clings, car decals, and backlit signs. It is also used for items that need to be durable and weatherproof. It is also used where the text need protection such as safety information. In this case the ink is behind the material and so well protected.

Subsurface printing has a number of advantages over other printing techniques. First, the images are protected from scratches and scuffs. Second, the images are more durable than surface printed images. Third, the images can be seen from both sides of the material.

MATERIALS

Material choice is a critical step in the design process. The material used for a product will have a significant impact on its performance, cost, and sustainability. There are many factors to consider when choosing a material, including the application, the environment, the budget, and the desired aesthetic.

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED DIGITAL PRINTING?

Digital printing is a cost-effective printing method for small to medium-sized print runs. This is because there are no set-up costs, and the cost per print decreases as the number of prints increases.

Also, Digital printing does not require any pre-press procedures, such as creating printing plates, which can save a significant amount of time. This makes it ideal for projects where speed is important, such as direct small print runs or serialised labels.
