Engineered for the extremes
POLYCARBONATE LABELS
Engineered from high-performance thermoplastic, these labels feature sub-surface printing that seals your text and graphics safely beneath a rugged, shatterproof barrier.
What are POLYCARBONATE LABELS?
Polycarbonate labels serve as the ultimate protective shield for your brand’s vital information. Engineered from high-performance thermoplastic, these heavy-duty labels utilise sub-surface printing, sealing your graphics safely beneath a rugged, shatterproof barrier.
This clever design means your text and logos are completely immune to harsh chemicals, abrasive wear, and extreme temperature fluctuations. Where standard labels scuff, fade, or peel away, these resilient overlays maintain their absolute structural integrity, ensuring your critical data remains readable for the entire lifespan of the product.
Beyond their industrial-grade toughness, these overlays deliver a premium, high-end aesthetic that instantly elevates product design. They can be customised with a range of sophisticated finishes, including sleek gloss, anti-glare matte, or textured velvet that cleverly resists fingerprints.
This versatility makes them the premier choice for demanding UK sectors, from medical devices and automotive control panels to aerospace instrumentation. By seamlessly blending robust durability with a professional look, they offer an unyielding labelling solution that protects both your product instructions and your brand's reputation.
Our custom polycarbonate labels fuse sub-surface graphics with industrial-grade thermoplastic to ensure your product’s critical branding remain permanently immaculate, even in the harshest operational environments.
Polycarbonate labels double as highly responsive user interfaces, offering a tactile tactile experience through custom embossing for buttons and membrane switches.
Unlike standard decals that sit passively on a surface, these advanced overlays can be engineered with selective texturing to guide a user’s touch while seamlessly incorporating transparent, optically clear windows for LED displays and LCD screens.
This integration allows product designers to consolidate branding, functional instructions, and electronic displays into a single, streamlined component that simplifies the assembly process.
From a manufacturing perspective, these labels offer exceptional dimensional stability, meaning they will not warp, shrink, or stretch out of shape during die-cutting or high-temperature application.
This precision allows for incredibly tight tolerances around complex cutouts, connectors, and perimeter bezels, ensuring a flawless flush-fit on intricate electronic housings.
By utilising advanced adhesive backing tailored to low-surface-energy plastics or powder-coated metals, they establish a permanent bond that prevents edge-lifting, keeping your equipment sealed and protected against moisture ingress for years.
DELIVERING QUALITY SINCE 1966
Mockridge Labels are UL approved to manufacture to PGAA & PGDQ2 standards, which means that our products meet the highest safety, and quality standards. We can print the official UL logo and assist our clients with getting UL approval for the graphic overlays and Labels we manufacture for export to the USA.

PGAA
PGAA category consists of the Authorised Supplier Program where suppliers of labels and other printed document must adhere to specific printing guidelines before they can print the UL Certification Mark.
Certification for the PGAA program includes an initial inspection followed by regular visits from a UL inspector.
Suppliers with PGAA accreditation can reproduce all UL marks, this is done by gaining authorisation from UL by attaining a UL stamp on your product drawings, which are inspected by UL field inspectors.

PGDQ2
PGDQ2 is a Marking & Labelling Systems Program that covers labels (nameplates and markers) and label materials.
Labels and label materials accredited under PGDQ2 are tested under the UL969 standard, in accordance with a specific set of criteria, including substrate types, temperatures and exposure conditions. This is to ensure that the labels and label materials used will adhere to the final product, with the safety label information necessary to alert product users of potential hazards remain legible.
Labels that have gone through and passed UL969 testing are called UL Recognised Component Labels.

ISO 9001 CERTIFICATION
ISO 9001 is based on a number of principles that go hand in hand with good business practice. These include focusing on customers, involving all people that affect your business, doing things systematically and continuously looking for ways to improve.
Organisations that implement ISO 9001 are invariably a step ahead of those that don’t. This is because they’re usually more efficient and can pass cost savings onto customers to become more competitive. The systematic and structured approach of ISO 9001 means that staff are motivated as they’re clear about their responsibilities.
