Clearly Marked, Always Compliant
Rating Plates
Rating plates are highly durable and are engineered to withstand rigorous environmental conditions and the full lifespan of the asset.
What are Rating plates?
Rating plates, are widely used for both their aesthetic appeal and their ability to convey important information, commonly produced from Aluminium or stainless steel as they're perfect for harsher environments.
We offer a variety of manufacturing methods to meet your specific needs. If you require full-colour images or variable data, barcodes or QR Codes, we use our state of the art UV digital print machines. Additionally, metal nameplates or rating plates can be chemically etched, anodically printed on aluminium or laser engraved, depending on what you prefer.
Rating plates are commonly used across a huge range of industries. They can display anything from basic manufacturing details, such as the country of origin, to crucial safety instructions that ensure equipment is used correctly.
Unlike self-adhesive labels, which can degrade or peel off over time, a printed nameplate remains as sturdy as the day it was put on. This makes them the top choice when adherence to quality, legal, or health and safety regulations is a must.
Rating plates are engineered for exceptional durability, designed to endure diverse environmental conditions and to last for the entire operational lifespan of the equipment they are affixed to.
Rating plates are particularly important for compliance with health and safety standards, as well as CE and UKCA marking requirements. These plates help users identify correct usage parameters, reducing the risk of misuse or overloading, and they also support traceability in the event of a product recall or service issue. Because of their regulatory importance, the information displayed on rating plates must be accurate, legible, and durable throughout the lifespan of the equipment.
Typically affixed to industrial or commercial products, these plates provide details such as manufacturer name, model number, serial number, voltage, current ratings, and other technical specifications. This information is vital for safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and compliance with legal or industry regulations.
DELIVERING QUALITY SINCE 1966
Mockridge Labels are UL approved to manufacture to PGAA & PGDQ2 standards, which means that our products meet the highest safety, and quality standards. We can print the official UL logo and assist our clients with getting UL approval for the graphic overlays and Labels we manufacture for export to the USA.

PGAA
PGAA category consists of the Authorised Supplier Program where suppliers of labels and other printed document must adhere to specific printing guidelines before they can print the UL Certification Mark.
Certification for the PGAA program includes an initial inspection followed by regular visits from a UL inspector.
Suppliers with PGAA accreditation can reproduce all UL marks, this is done by gaining authorisation from UL by attaining a UL stamp on your product drawings, which are inspected by UL field inspectors.

PGDQ2
PGDQ2 is a Marking & Labelling Systems Program that covers labels (nameplates and markers) and label materials.
Labels and label materials accredited under PGDQ2 are tested under the UL969 standard, in accordance with a specific set of criteria, including substrate types, temperatures and exposure conditions. This is to ensure that the labels and label materials used will adhere to the final product, with the safety label information necessary to alert product users of potential hazards remain legible.
Labels that have gone through and passed UL969 testing are called UL Recognised Component Labels.

ISO 9001 CERTIFICATION
ISO 9001 is based on a number of principles that go hand in hand with good business practice. These include focusing on customers, involving all people that affect your business, doing things systematically and continuously looking for ways to improve.
Organisations that implement ISO 9001 are invariably a step ahead of those that don’t. This is because they’re usually more efficient and can pass cost savings onto customers to become more competitive. The systematic and structured approach of ISO 9001 means that staff are motivated as they’re clear about their responsibilities.
